Scuba Diving Odyssey

Cabo San Lucas is surrounded by one of the most extensive submarine canyon systems in the world. The Sea of Cortes, which is on Cabo’s East Side, is actually a continuation of the San Andreas Fault line that runs down the West Coast of North America. The water depth in Cabo San Lucas Bay is over 700 feet deep just a few dozen yards from the shore. If we continue out into the sea we reach depths of over 4,000 feet within two miles and within five miles the depths can easily exceed 12,000 feet. These deep-water canyons and currents are host to over 750 species of marine life and some species have over 2,000 varieties. This creates some of the best and most diversified scuba diving, snorkeling and sport fishing in the world.
Our friendly and competent staff will take you from the pier to the dive shop, a NAUI PRO facility and PADI 5-STAR Dive Center. (It is also an SSI Training Agency). Your certified, Bi-lingual dive guide will provide an area orientation and marine life briefing. A licensed boat captain will take you to the dive site, options are:
Pelican Rock (25 to 100 ft): A calm protected site teeming with a wide variety of tropical's (puffer fish, regal king angelfish, moorish idols, etc.) and invertebrates. This is also where some of the Sand Falls (Rivers of Sand) are located. The Sand Falls look like waterfalls but are composed entirely of sand. A must for all underwater photographers.
Neptune's Finger (30 to 100 ft): An interesting area consisting of rocky substrate covered with hard and soft corals, swaying sea fans, colorful sponges and delicate gorgonians. Another Sand fall occurs here and tropical's abound. Sometimes an occasional pelagic (manta ray, turtle, etc…) will visit this area.
The Pinnacle and Sea Lion Rookery (50 to 80 ft): This site tends to appeal to the more advanced diver due to the currents sometimes present, but an excellent location to encounter pelagics. This is also where the California Sea Lions frolic and perform underwater acrobatics, along with the tropical's and temperate fish present.
After the tour you’ll be returned to the main pier. For passengers wishing to visit Cabo San Lucas it’s an easy 20-minute walk through downtown to the tender pier.
